Appendix E: Summary of Current Deficiencies
The summary of current deficiencies outlines the general accessibility challenges found in our general-purpose classroom buildings, but does not specifically list the deficiencies identified in the Accessology report. Both documents serve as valuable references when prioritizing accessibility projects each fiscal year, considering the available funding for addressing these concerns on campus.
In FY 22-23, the ADA Prioritization Committee allocated funds to have Registered Accessibility Specialists with Altura Solutions evaluate UT Austin’s general-purpose classroom buildings and identify areas that do not comply with the Texas Accessibility Standards/ADA Accessibility Guidelines. General-purpose classroom buildings see the highest student traffic and house classrooms and laboratories, which are managed by the Office of the Registrar. The goal of the assessment is to inform and guide future accessibility project planning and prioritization across campus. The ADA Prioritization Committee began funding projects from assessment report in FY 23-24.
This document will be updated on an annual basis to reflect work that has been completed or is in progress. The ADA Prioritization Committee is responsible for prioritizing what projects will be completed each year.
Access to this document requires that you authenticate with your UT EID. If you do not have a UT EID, you will need to apply for a UT EID or complete and submit an Open Records Request to view the University’s ADA Transition Plan.
