Programs within University Risk and Compliance Services

We have been charged with creating programs around several risk areas, including:

Clery Act

This office handles the collection of crime statistics and fire statistics for the university and publishes the Annual Security Report in accordance with the Jeanne Clery Act. We work hand-in-hand with UTPD and other offices on campus to make sure we give timely warnings of crimes that represent a threat to the safety of students or employees.

Compliance and Ethics Program

UT Austin established the Compliance and Ethics Program (CEP) to promote and support a working environment which reflects the University’s commitment to maintaining the highest level of integrity and ethical standards in the conduct of its operations. URCS oversees this effort and provides advice and services related to: Training and general education, Operational support, Effort coordination, and Assurance.

Department of Investigation and Adjudication

The University of Texas at Austin is committed to advancing a fair, just, and supportive campus culture. The Department of Investigation and Adjudication (DIA) investigates allegations of discrimination, harassment, and other prohibited conduct.

Information Security Office

The mission of the Information Security Office (ISO), as required by state law, is to assure the security of the university's Information Technology resources and the existence of a safe computing environment in which the university community can teach, learn, and conduct research.

Institutional Accessibility and Accommodation

Institutional Accessibility and Accommodation (IAA) has oversight authority for all concerns that fall under the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, Sections 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act, and Electronic Information Resources. They facilitate the interactive process with employees who are seeking workplace accommodations.

UT Austin is committed to protecting the personal information of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors. Our mission is to ensure that all personal information collected, used, or disclosed by the university is done so in accordance with applicable privacy laws and regulations. We believe that privacy is a fundamental right and take seriously our responsibility to uphold this right.

Title IX Office

The Title IX Office supports the University’s commitment to maintain an environment free from sex and gender discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual misconduct, interpersonal violence (including domestic violence and dating violence), and stalking.

Youth Protection Program

The Youth Protection Program (YPP) is committed to ensuring the safety of minors participating in camps or programs on university premises or participating in those programs sponsored or supported by the university.
