New Policy: HOP 2-2030 Faculty Residency
The University is committed to delivering an in‐person, residential educational experience to undergraduate and graduate students. In addition, the University has a responsibility to manage the legal and/or tax‐related risks that are presented when employees reside outside Texas. While expectations for in‐person teaching and research have been shared with faculty via university communications, the policy around faculty residency has not been formalized in the HOP. This creates the potential for increased legal/tax risk, lack of consistency and clarity in residency expectations, and increased administrative burden to address residency‐related concerns and issues.
