This HOP has been developed to update the outdated policy memorandum (HOP 3-2020-PM) to a fully policy display and to update the format to align with current policy standards.

Updates were also made to reflect recent and applicable FAA regulations regarding the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) as part of University-sponsored activities (e.g. educational exemptions, remote ID capabilities, etc.).

Allegation of violations are reviewed and decided by the Department of Investigation and Adjudication (DIA). Prior to this update, there was no appeal if DIA determined, after an initial review, that there was no violation. Additional edits improve consistency in terminology and procedural clarity throughout the policy.
