Associate Vice President for Investigation and Adjudication
John Dalton came to the university in 2000 from the University of Florida, where he served as Assistant Dean for Student Judicial Services. At the UT Austin Mr. Dalton was appointed as an Assistant Dean of Students and served as Director of New Student Services and Student Judicial Services. In 2006 he moved to the Graduate School as Assistant Dean for Graduate Studies, and voluntarily served as a university hearing officer for student conduct matters until 2017, when he was appointed as a Senior Appellate Officer. In 2020 Mr. Dalton became the Associate Vice President for the Department of Investigation and Adjudication (DIA).
Mr. Dalton earned both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Radford University in Virginia, his home state.
